Update 18 August: Nikon D3100 to launch today, with 4 lenses

A September issue of Foto Digital Magazine is seen to be publishing a new Nikon entry level single lens reflex, the Nikon D3100.

The speculated specification for the Nikon D3100 are as follow:

  • 14 MP CMOS Sensor (23.2 x 15.5mm)
  • Live View
  • 3" 920k LCD Display
  • ISO100 – ISO12800
  • 11 AF points
  • High Definition Support up to 1080p
  • New EXPEED2 processor

A new EXPEED2 processor is expected for the Nikon D3100, perhaps it is going to be used in the speculated D800 which is said to be able to shoot at  7 frames per second according to sources.

The new D3100 is expected to have enhanced object recognition, better in-camera menu and shall cost around USD$1,000.
