 Mr Baey Yam Keng, Member of Parliament, Singapore will be Guest-of-Honor at first ever Regional Photo Industry Leaders’ Forum, held in conjunction with Imaging Expo Singapore
In conjunction with the inaugural Imaging Expo Singapore 2007 (IES 07) which will be held from 2nd – 4th November 2007 at Suntec Singapore International Convention & Exhibition Centre, the Singapore Photographic Trade Association (SPTA) will be hosting the first ever Regional Photo Industry Leaders’ Forum. According to Mr George Lin, the President, SPTA has received confirmed attendance from representatives of various associations around the region, including Brunei Photographic Society, Hong Kong Photographic & Optic Manufacturers Association, The Federation of Commercial Photographic Society Malaysia and Thai Photo Business Association. Mr Baey Yam Keng, Member of Parliament, Singapore, will be the guest-of-honor at this forum. The photographic industry, particularly in the printing division went through a major restructuring during revolution of the industry into the digital era. ‘It is important that Singapore take the lead in gathering all the industry experts around the region to discuss the challenges and future trends that we might face, and hopefully foster further co-operations’, said Mr Lin. One of the recent trends - photo-blogging will also be discussed to ensure that the industry keeps up with the younger consumers. One of the leaders in photographic technology – Japan, will also be making their voice heard at the forum. The President of Japan Photo Enterprises Association, Mr Akirou Mitsui will be the representative. The organizer of IES 07, Koelnmesse is one of the largest trade fairs organizers in the world. Having established photokina as the world’s number one imaging fair, IES 07 is the initiative of Koelnmesse Pte Ltd, its regional headquarter for Asia Pacific. For the first time in Asia Pacific, imaging and photography enthusiasts can look forward to a professional imaging and photography event right here in Singapore. Major manufacturers such as Adobe, Bowens, Bushnell, Canon, Hasselblad, Hewlett Packard, Kodak, Noritsu, Ricoh, Sigma, Tamron and Wacom will ensure the delivery of a total imaging experience covering products from the entire imaging workflow.
