In Malaysia, the country where I spent most of my photography expedition, there are not so much baseball and softball tournament, this article may not seem to be useful for those who are staying in a country which baseball and softball are not one of the main sports.

Younger kids are prone to do anything during a baseball game ranging
from picking daisies to playing with their ball cap. The younger they
are, the quicker their attention wonders from the game and the more
illustrative they become.
My reason of including this article here is just to let readers what is it like to photography the tournaments mentioned, not focusing what tripod to use, how long is you lens and what camera body to use. Anyway if you are interested with that, you may as well want to take a look at this article too.
For those who are located at country where baseball or softball is the happening event, I would suggest you to continue reading. Those who are not, these rules basically applies in photographing basketball and football.
Learn how to set the right metering, aperture, shutter and ISO accordingly. In addition to that, know where to position yourself, know when to start continuous shooting mode and when to stop. What if the event is at night time, what setting should I use? It is all answered in this article.
No matter what tournament you are photographing, make sure that you know and understand the game, do some research before going there, where players will be and what are the candid shots to look for. A brief introduction about baseball and softball is highlighted in this article.
