DPreview.com has just posted Nikon D300 Hands-on Preview . The hands on preview includes a detail description of D300's specification and body built. In addition, full description of all buttons' function is there too. Reader can also get an idea of the look in D300's 100% viewfinder, LCD panel display and full menu display.

The interesting part is the Live View functionality where how the camera focus and display are outlined. Included with the preview is the Live view focus, magnify and exposure video clip, HDMI output / High Definition display and High definition video clips.

Here's the direct link to:

High definition video clips
Normal playback via HDMI (720p; 137 KB or 1080i; 241 KB )
Zoomed playback via HDMI (720p; 108 KB or 1080i; 207 KB )

HDMI output / High Definition display
Live view over HDMI video clip (720p; Apple Quicktime; 9,979 KB )
Playback over HDMI video clip (720p; Apple Quicktime; 2,500 KB )

I was expecting a comparison of different ISO setting and also comparing the noise level between Nikon D300 and Canon 40D. Judging from the outlook, the sensor of new Sony Alpha A700 looks similar with Nikon D300's sensor, a comparison between the two will be interesting too.

I was also expecting comparison of High Speed continous shots between other cameras and also the D2 series bodies. The new focusing system attracts me too, the difference between Multicam 2000 vs Multicam 3500 is what i am looking forward too. It will be interesting to know what is the writing speed from the camera buffer to the Compact Flash too.

But then, should DPreview covers the issues mentioned above, then it is not a preview anymore. We shall wait for the official FULL REVIEW. I am expecting a D3 hands on preview in a few days as that is the subject used when testing Nikon D300's Live View.
