The first thing people think of when getting a new digital camera is the megapixel. They will only look at how many megapixel the camera has and that is the only comparison they do, well, apart from the size of the camera. The megapixel hunt is a game well played by manufacturers to lure consumers on buying their more expensive cameras.
Honestly speaking, how often do one print out their holidays and birthday parties photos larger then 4R (4"x6") or 8R (8"x 10"). Nowadays, people prefer storing their digital images in computers or upload it to an online photo gallery for sharing purposes. If you are categorized in one of those mentioned above, then like what a spokesman for Premier Image Technology, one of the world's largest digital still cameras makers, said:"Five megapixels is already sufficient for almost all users." Megapixels may play an important role if you are someone who like to crop down a captured image and then develop them at 8R, but how often you will be doing so? A decent 5 megapixel digital camera cost below US$200 like the Fujifim FinePix A350 and Canon Powershot A530 which cost US$129 and US$180 respectively. Grab your bag and start shopping for a digital camera that cater you needs not your wants. It's not expensive to get a good digital camera as a Christmas gift! Current Related News
