4. 12MP compacts. Despite technical limitations, camera companies will roll out 12MP compact cameras that will produce noise-filled pictures. If they're lucky, they'll have the aforementioned anti-noise technology onboard.

Nature Sniper: Something that consumers do not need: the megapixel war between camera manufacturers. They do not care about consumers anyways, profits is what it’s all about. If you are planning to grab one of these 12 megapixels cameras makes sure u read my Picking the Right Megapixel short article before proceeding.

5. 12MP DSLRS: As with compacts, the new standard for enthusiast-level photographers, currently in the 8-10MP range, will hit 12MP, probably with a handful of models introduced at PMA in March. Price range will be between a grand and $1,500.

Nature Sniper: Not just on compacts but on dSLRs too that 12 megapixel cameras are coming into the game as predicted. One thing which is good is that with these cameras introduced at $1,500 be prepare to grab yourself a second camera may it be Canon 30D or Nikon D200 at $1,200.

6. Everyone will become a stock photographer, and nobody will make money at it. Microstock agencies will tie into photo sharing sites (it's already happened at Flickr), allowing photographers to try to sell their photos for a buck or two per use. A handful of photographers will be successful (and will be hyped like crazy), but most will buy into the dream and make nothing.

Nature Sniper: You think that you own a camera and you can become a stock photographer or shoot for anyone’s image bank? If that’s what in your mind you may want to re-think that. Trying to make a fortune through stock photography is not as easy as mentioned by all the stock agencies. Making $30 or less per month is the figure that you will most probably achieve, if you are lucky.
