LAKE SUCCESS, N.Y., January 23, 2008 – Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging, today announced the launch of two new telephoto lenses for use with its EOS SLR cameras: the EF200mm f/2L IS USM*/** and the EF800mm f/5.6L IS USM*/**, the world's longest focal length lens with an Optical Image Stabilizer system.*** The Company, which exhibited prototypes of the lenses during PhotoPlus Expo in New York last October, is launching them at the PMA tradeshow (booth E101) at the Las Vegas Convention Center, January 31 to February 2.
Canon Japan released a series of sample photos taken by the Canon EOS XSi aka 450D. But there is only two image at the moment that are in full resolution. Both photos were taken with 85mm F1.2 and 400mm F2.8 IS USM. Click on the image for larger view. 100% cropped version is included as well.

Canon announced the long awaited replacement for EOS-400D. The new entry level dSLR for Canon is named Canon EOS Rebel XSi or 450D boosting a 12.2 megapixel APS-C size Canon CMOS sensor and DIGIC III Image Processor. As expected, it comes with live view feature with 3” LCD and 3.5 frames per second for bursts of up to 45 images in large/fine JPEG mode and 6 frames in RAW mode.
Mark Goldstein of photographyblog had a hands on with the pre-production Pentax K20D coupled with the new SMC PENTAX-DA 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 AL II zoom lens. Sample photos were taken at Dubai, UAE.
